Surface Science M-Probe ESCA/XPS

The transfer arm is hard to move and will be repaired in the near future. The arm is much easier to move in the locked position (when the flat section is down or the tape is up)
When loading samples 

	1.	the stage MUST be at the 0,0,0 position.
	2.	After releasing the sample on the stage rotate the magnet to the locked position (tape and flat side up) to fully retract
	3.	For data collection, the sample needs to be much higher. Start with a z position off +8 on the motion control panel
	4.	 Then optimize the Z height

When unloading samples

 Lower the state to the 
 Keep the arm magnet in the locked postion (tape and flat side up) while advancing to arm till the fork is close to the stuv
